Rudiments takes us back to our roots with random-lay mix-and-match carpet tiles inspired by original flooring materials.

From carved stone floors and hand-molded clay tiles to rough-cut wood blocks and artistic fabrics woven from organic yarns, Rudiments celebrates flooring materials that have been closely tied to culture for centuries. In random lay styles that can be mixed and matched, Rudiments is made in Belgium for a collection of carpet tiles that brings new meaning to our connection to natural flooring materials.

With a beginning rooted in foundational flooring materials, Rudiments is a foundational carpet tile collection for changing offices.

From stone floors to artistic textile coverings to roughly shaped wood planks, Rudiments finds its foundation in the flooring materials to which we are intrinsically connected.

Rudiments has 5 types of finishes:

1-Clay

Timeless style inspired by vintage building blocks

Inspired by the importance of fine-grained flooring as a creative and structural material, Clay is a randomly placed carpet plank that can be mixed and matched in Rudiments designs.

Clay is inspired by our crafting of the world's oldest known ceramic material, molded by hand into the rudimentary building blocks that have protected us for centuries. A rug board that adds organic structure to projects, Clay's sophisticated design quality reflects the versatility of a material we've come up with since prehistoric times.

Presented in a selection of colors from the Rudiments Palette, Clay's tonal combinations create harmony and present limitless mix-and-match possibilities. In a random placement table made to work easily with all Rudiments styles, Clay elevates projects and provides new ways to divide spaces.

2- Create Clay

Playful explorations born from artisan ceramics.

Clay Create is a fun random layout pattern that echoes the artistic side of the material with a range of shifting colors that add exciting transitional possibilities for mixing and matching Rudiments installations.

Clay Create brings freedom to the Rudiments collection in a transitional rug board that explores the expressive quality of clay as a material with both functional and artistic use. By adding color combinations that move us from one hue to another, the random lay design reflects the possibilities of the new forms that clay stimulates.

With 12 energizing color combinations, Clay Create brings a spirit of adventure to schemes. Mixing and matching in countless combinations, Clay Create can be used to explore changing modes of activity, direction and transition on a randomly placed carpet plank providing an opportunity to explore the art of good flooring design.

3- Basalt

Bold texture to echo ancient stone.

Rooted in ancient, time-worn stone blocks, Basalt is a carpet tile randomly laid to add bold texture in mix-and-match schemes that return flooring to its roots.

Basalt takes its direction from the mineral-rich formations found in volcanic rock, creating a random organic pattern well suited to adding bold texture to large areas. The rise and fall of the Basalt structure echoes its origins as a material from ancient culture, connecting us to nature and history in a surprising way.

The randomly laid design is available in all 12 colors of the Rudiments carpet tile collection. Combining functional colors with complementary on-trend shades, Basalt's two-tone color schemes are both practical and inspiring, mixing and matching to balance commercial interiors.

4- Jute

The elegance of woven natural fabrics.

Born from hand-woven natural textiles, jute is a mixed and matched carpet tile that lends a subtle and undeniably elegant look to schemes that explore the cultural significance of flooring.

The coarsely spun plant yarns of woven burlap lend a natural meaning to the subtle and elegant jute. Inspired by early handwoven flooring, this all-over design offers a subtle approach to the use of texture in open areas, its pattern reflecting the comforting effect of organic textiles for a spirit-soothing tile rug.

Jute comes in all 12 colors of the Rudiments collection, using blends that combine functional colors with complementary trend tones to mix and match combinations that bring harmony to commercial projects.

5- Teak

Structure built on our connection with wood.

Exploring our innate connection to wood, Teak is a randomly laid carpet tile with a structured look and casual feel for endless mix-and-match possibilities.

The beginnings of teak can be found in the light and shadow cast by oiled blocks arranged in arbitrary geometric patterns, establishing a structured yet informal aesthetic in open spaces. The pattern echoes the different heights of the blocks, providing random bright elevations and dark depths that add a striking graphic dimension to this naturalistic carpet tile.

Mixed and matched with other Rudiments styles, Teak's well-balanced tonal combinations make a sophisticated random addition to today's commercial interiors.
